Communicate site rules and procedures clearly

Information signs use a plain-language notice format to communicate site expectations to contractors, visitors and new arrivals. Common messages include All Contractors Must Report To Site Office, All Personnel Must Be Site Inducted, All Visitors Must Register, Do Not Dump Chemicals and Door Alarmed. Products are available as rigid panels and self-adhesive stickers in multiple sizes, with materials including aluminium composite panel, aluminium, polypropylene, foam PVC and corflute. Corflute is a practical choice for construction sites where the sign will be repositioned as the project progresses; aluminium composite panel or aluminium is better suited to a long-term installation.

Information signs are most effective when positioned at the entry to the relevant area or adjacent to the process they relate to, at a height and size readable from the approach path. They do not substitute for site induction, documented procedures or direct supervision, but they provide a visible and consistent reminder of the rules in force on site.
