Custom Acrylic Signs Printed and Fabricated In-House
Acrylic Signs provide a premium, clean appearance for reception signage, office branding, retail displays, plaques, directories and architectural graphics. Sign Portal manufactures acrylic signage in-house using UV printing, laser cutting and CNC routing, allowing printed graphics and precision-cut shapes to be combined in one project.
Reverse-printed acrylic for protected graphics
Clear acrylic can be printed on the rear face so the artwork is viewed through the material. This creates a polished appearance while the acrylic itself provides physical protection to the printed image from direct touching and cleaning. Reverse printing is particularly useful for reception panels, directories and premium branded signage.
Laser cut and CNC routed shapes
Our in-house CO₂ laser cutters are well suited to acrylic and can produce detailed cut shapes with clean edges. CNC routing is available for thicker materials or fabrication requirements better suited to mechanical cutting. Acrylic can be cut into logos, plaques, letters, panels and custom profiles.
Thickness and finish options
Common acrylic thicknesses used in signage and fabrication include 2mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm, 10mm, 15mm and 20mm, subject to colour and material availability. Clear, coloured, opaque, translucent, gloss and specialty finishes can be selected to suit the design.
Mounting methods
Acrylic signs can be installed using stand-offs, appropriate adhesives, high-performance tapes or mechanical fixings depending on sign size, substrate and exposure. Drilled holes and custom mounting details can be incorporated during fabrication.
Made in Brisbane
Because printing and cutting are completed in-house, Sign Portal can produce layered acrylic signs, printed panels, raised lettering and custom branded displays with close control over finish and alignment.

FAQ
Acrylic signs questions
Acrylic is an incredibly durable and robust material that can last for years with minimal maintenance when used indoors. Acrylic signs printed on the reverse (rear print) are scratch-resistant and retain their vibrant colours throughout the sign's lifetime. With proper care, your indoor acrylic sign can remain pristine for over a decade.
Yes, acrylic signs can be used outdoors; however, they may expand and contract with varying weather conditions, impacting their longevity. While acrylic is weather-resistant, for long-term external use we recommend aluminium composite (ACM) signs, which are more suited to outdoor environments and provide greater durability in harsh conditions.
Acrylic signs generally do not require lamination because the print is applied to the back of the acrylic (reverse printing), which protects it from scratches and damage. We do offer the option of adding a white vinyl backing to further protect the ink, provide a more solid appearance and enhance the vibrancy of the printed image.
Although we don't offer installation services, acrylic reception signs are relatively easy to install. They can be mounted using standoff screws or adhesive mounts, depending on your preference. Numerous instructional videos are available online to guide you through the process.
Acrylic is incredibly versatile. In addition to signage, it can be used for name badges, splashbacks, art reproductions, display cases, trophies, wall prints and decorative elements for homes or offices. Its clarity, durability and customisability make it ideal for countless creative projects.
