Kitchen and Food Safety Signs
Kitchen and food safety signs identify equipment, designate food preparation areas and communicate hygiene and handling instructions for commercial kitchens, food production facilities, cafes, restaurants, school canteens and catering operations. The collection of 18 products covers convection ovens, deep fryers, dishwashers, food preparation areas designated for cooked food, raw food, vegetables and salads, and mincing and mixing equipment.
Designate areas and identify equipment clearly
Colour-coded and clearly labelled preparation area signs help kitchen staff and food safety supervisors maintain separation between raw and cooked food, reducing cross-contamination risk. Equipment identification signs placed on or near specific appliances help staff follow correct procedures and enable supervisors and inspectors to confirm that operating instructions are being observed. Products are available as rigid panels and self-adhesive stickers in multiple sizes, with materials including aluminium composite panel, aluminium, polypropylene and foam PVC. Self-adhesive stickers suit smooth kitchen surfaces; rigid panels are a better choice for wall mounting where the sign will be wiped down regularly.
Kitchen signage requirements can vary by business type, local council requirement and the food safety program in use. Signs should complement, not replace, a written food safety program and documented cleaning schedules. If the stock range does not include the specific equipment type, area name or wording required for the facility, custom kitchen signs can be produced to order.
Made to suit the environment
Sign Portal manufactures signs in-house in Queensland and can produce kitchen identification with custom wording, area colour codes, equipment names or food-type designations. For wider workplace and facility sign requirements, browse mandatory signs for PPE and access instructions, prohibition signs for no-food, no-drink and no-mobile-phone messages, and the broader safety signs range. Read Corflute Signs vs PVC Foam Board for material guidance relevant to kitchen environments.
Are these signs suitable for high-humidity kitchen environments?
Polypropylene and aluminium-based products are generally more resistant to moisture than foam PVC. For a surface that will be cleaned with commercial-grade products, specify the material on enquiry so the most suitable option for the environment can be recommended.
