What is the difference between ACM and solid aluminium?

Aluminium Composite Material (ACM), sometimes referred to as ACP, consists of two thin aluminium skins bonded to a polyethylene core. Solid aluminium is manufactured from a single sheet of aluminium, making it more impact resistant and better suited to harsh outdoor environments, coastal locations and applications requiring maximum longevity.

Why should I choose reflective safety signs?

Do your reflective safety signs comply with Australian Standards?

Why can I see lines on some reflective signs?

Engineering Grade (Class 100) reflective material has a smooth appearance with no visible prism pattern. Higher-performance prismatic reflective materials, such as Class 400 and Class 1100, contain microscopic prisms that may be visible when viewed up close. This is a normal characteristic of the material and contributes to its increased reflectivity.

Which reflective grade should I choose?

Class 100 is suitable for general commercial and private property signage where good night-time visibility is required. Class 400 (or 400T) provides significantly higher reflectivity and is commonly used for public road signage and traffic management. Class 1100 offers the highest level of retroreflectivity for critical road safety applications including highways, intersections and high-speed environments.

Can I use any reflective sign on public roads?

Steel Only Stencil for Material Segregation

The Steel Only Stencil creates a clear painted identifier for bins, skips, storage bays and collection areas designated specifically for steel. It is useful in workshops, construction sites, recycling facilities and industrial operations where separating steel from mixed waste or other metals supports cleaner material handling.

Typical applications

Use on steel recycling bins, scrap bays, fabrication waste areas, construction recycling stations, warehouse collection zones and other material-segregation points. The wording can be applied directly to suitable containers or to the floor or wall adjacent to the designated area.

Reusable stencil for consistent site labelling

A stencil makes it easier to repeat the same STEEL ONLY message across multiple containers or facilities. Choose the available material according to the required flexibility and frequency of reuse, and test the fit when marking curved or uneven surfaces.

Application guidance

Remove dirt, rust scale, oil and other loose contamination from the marking area as appropriate. Secure the stencil and use a coating compatible with the substrate. Apply light coats to reduce edge bleed and allow the paint to cure before the bin or area returns to normal service.

Improve waste-stream clarity

“Steel Only” should be supported by site-specific guidance if users could confuse steel with aluminium, stainless steel, mixed metal, contaminated components or prohibited items. The waste contractor or facility operator should define what belongs in the stream.

At Sign Portal, we understand that sometimes issues may arise with your custom signage orders. As our products are tailored specifically to your requirements, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges for incorrect orders. However, if your item is found to be faulty or was supplied incorrectly, we are happy to accept returns within 30 days of receipt.

To be eligible for a return, your item must remain unused and in the same condition as when it was delivered. The item should also be in its original packaging.

Please include a receipt or proof of purchase when initiating the return.

Proofing Approval

Prior to production, we provide a digital proof of your design for approval. Once you approve the proof and confirm that the design is correct, we move forward with manufacturing. It is your responsibility to carefully review the proof and ensure all details are accurate, including text, colors, and dimensions. After approval, we cannot be held liable for any mistakes or changes, and refunds will not be issued based on customer errors in the proofing process.

Conditions for Partial Refunds (if applicable)

Refunds or exchanges will not be issued in the following circumstances:

The item is no longer in its original condition, has been damaged, or is missing parts due to reasons not caused by us.
Returns made more than 30 days after the item has been delivered.
