When an event is approaching fast, every detail matters. The branding needs to look right, the products need to be finished on time, and everything needs to be ready before the first visitor arrives.
For Anaconda's Sandstone Point Fishing Competition, Sign Portal was asked to produce a collection of custom event pieces on a tight turnaround. The job included printed Foam PVC signage, oversized keys, kayak signage, novelty cheques and custom printed umbrellas.

More Than Standard Event Signs
Fishing events call for signage that is easy to spot, looks good in photos and fits the occasion. This project brought together several different products, each with its own purpose.
The custom printed Foam PVC pieces gave Anaconda bold, lightweight signage for the event. Oversized keys and novelty cheques added a fun element to the presentation and prize moments, while the kayak signage carried the branding across another prominent part of the event. Custom printed umbrellas completed the range.
Producing these pieces together helped create a consistent look across the event, despite the different shapes, materials and uses involved.
A Tight Deadline Calls for In-House Production
Short-notice projects are where control over production makes a difference. Sign Portal manufactures most of its signage in-house at our Brisbane facility, using equipment that includes UV flatbed printers, wide-format printers, laser cutters and CNC routing machinery.
For the Anaconda project, that meant our team could coordinate the artwork, printing and production without sending each stage to a different supplier. We could keep a close eye on the finish of every item and work to the event deadline.
Our in-house approach is built around more than speed. It also gives us the flexibility to make custom products that do not fit neatly into a standard catalogue. From a shaped Foam PVC display to an oversized presentation piece, we can work with the design and intended use to find a practical way to produce it.
Signage for the Fishing Industry
Fishing is a familiar space for Sign Portal. Alongside event signage, we produce custom printed fishing brag mats and self-adhesive fishing rulers for businesses, fishing clubs and sporting organisations across Australia.
Our brag mats can be customised with club colours, sponsor logos and measurement scales. They are printed on heavy-duty outdoor PVC banner material and are made for repeated use around the water. For competitions, a branded brag mat does more than measure a catch: it gives anglers a consistent backdrop for their photos and puts event sponsors in the frame.
We also make larger custom fishing rulers for specialised applications. Like the signage produced for Anaconda, these products bring together practical requirements and strong branding.
