Typical thicknesses we stock in-house for fast turnaround: ACP 3 mm (0.21 mm skins), polycarbonate 2–6 mm, acrylic 3–6 mm, foam PVC 3–10 mm, corflute 3–5 mm. For harsh coastal sites we recommend 316 stainless fixings and isolator washers to avoid galvanic corrosion.

Material options explained

Aluminium composite panel (ACP)

ACP is a rigid, dimensionally stable sandwich panel with aluminium skins. It performs well outdoors and keeps panels flat for crisp multilingual typography. Direct UV printing yields sharp edges on small text, and the panel can be routed to shape for custom pictograms.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is the go-to where impact resistance is essential, such as workshops, transport depots and mining sites. It is less likely to crack from knocks or vandalism. Multilingual legends can be UV printed or applied as high-tack vinyls; both methods produce clean letterforms for small glyphs.

Acrylic (PMMA)

Acrylic provides a premium, glass-like finish suited to reception areas, healthcare, education and corporate interiors. Reverse printing on clear acrylic with a white backing layer creates excellent contrast for various scripts and icons. While acrylic is outdoor-capable, avoid high-impact zones where chipping is likely.

Foam PVC

Use mechanical fixings or clean-surface adhesives for installation. For longevity in high-touch areas, add a protective laminate.

Corflute (corrugated polypropylene)

Corflute is best for temporary or campaign signage, site inductions and events. It is light, easy to cable-tie to fences and economical at volume. Multilingual layouts remain readable when designed with bold type and sufficient line spacing to counter the flute texture.

Choose thicker boards for larger sizes to reduce flexing in wind. Eyelets help prevent tearing at tie points.
